The agreement was signed in Dar es Salaam by REA Director General Eng. Hassan Saidy and EACOP Managing Director Mr. Guillaume Dulout.

Following the signing, Eng. Saidy stated that the partnership will ensure communities living along the pipeline route—from Kagera Region to Tanga Region—benefit from reliable electricity services.

He added that the initiative aims to enhance social services such as schools, health centers, and water projects, boost productive uses of electricity, and stimulate rural business growth.

EACOP Managing Director Guillaume Dulout noted that the project aligns with EACOP’s ongoing commitment to improving livelihoods in communities affected by the pipeline.

In Tanzania, the pipeline traverses 8 regions, 27 districts, and 231 villages, directly impacting numerous rural communities.
