New Natural Resources And Tourism Minister Officially Handed Over The Key Economic Ministry  

 


Dr Kijaji pledged to work round the clock, but also patriotically to ensure the Ministry continues contributing to the development of citizens and the nation at large


DODOMA: Dr Ashatu Kijaji, the newly picked Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism has officially taken over the office from her predecessor, Ambassador Dr Pindi Chana, as she commences leading the key Ministry in which the national economy hinges on.

The brief handing over ceremony took place on November 20, 2025, at the Government City in Mtumba, Dodoma Capital City.

In her remarks shortly after taking charge of the office, Dr Kijaji hailed Ambassador Chana for the notable role she accomplished during her tenure as Minister. 

She also expressed her gratitude to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, for appointing her and placing trust in her to lead the Ministry. 

The new Minister pledged to work round the clock, but also patriotically to ensure the Ministry continues contributing to the development of citizens and the nation at large.

Speaking for her part, the outgoing Minister, Ambassador Dr Pindi Chana thanked President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan for the continued trust she has shown her in the various positions she has held. 

Together with that, she also promised to extend her cooperation to the new leadership of the Ministry whenever needed.

The handover ceremony was witnessed by the Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Hamad Hassan Chande, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Hassan Abbasi, and the Acting Director of the Department of Administration and Human Resources, Shani Kamala.
