Govt Calls Ambassadors To Help Attract Investors In Dodoma Capital City
The ‘Diplomatic Capital City Tour’ is a one- day expedition which has been hatched to create a platform for the Ambassadors to familiarize key investment opportunities available in Dodoma region.
DODOMA. THE Government has challenged Ambassadors from different countries to Tanzania to sensitive their home countries to come and invest into numerous economic niches available in Dodoma Capital City.
Ambassadors Mahmoud Thabiti Kombo, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation said Dodoma has vast potentials for allowing smooth investments, including enough land spaces and good environment.
“The city of Dodoma is growing to fast, in terms of human population, the development which stimulating increased demand for various services, including hotels and apartments, foods and drinks, as well as many other socioeconomic services,” he said.
The Minister made the appeal in his remarks during a special organized sessions with the Ambassadors from various countries to Tanzania.
Held in Dodoma, the roundtable meeting was part of a series of events staged in tandem with the ‘Diplomatic Capital City Tour’ , a one- day expedition tailored to create a platform for the ambassadors a to familiarize key investment opportunities available in Dodoma region.
Speaking after the envoys to have visited several parts of Capital City with investment potentials, Ambassador Kombo underscored over the need for them (Ambassadors) to use their diplomatic status to contribute towards supplementing efforts by the Government to attract more investors in Tanzania Capitals.
Speaking for her part, Deputy Minister – President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government) Ms Zainab Katimba told the Ambassadors that the Government has during the past four years inject a total of 5.1 turn/- to improve education sector.
Similarly, she informed the Ambassadors that as part of efforts to heighten Tanzania’s education sector, at least 1,399 primary schools and 1,044 secondary schools have been constructed.
“The move also saw installation of dormitories, laboratories and residents for accommodating teachers at different areas,” she added.
Dodoma Regional Commissioner (RC) Ms Rosemary Senyamule, on her side spoke over the diverse strategic projects the government is implementation in the region of Dodoma.
The RC said the ongoing projects are meant to transform the region into the deserved status of Tanzania’s capital city, the development which also target to stimulate investment influx.
“The Government has invested into an array of mega-projects in Dodoma, including construction of the Government City, installation of Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), construction of ring road and Msalato International Airport, to mention but a few,” she said.
She said the ongoing projects are implemented at a coast of over 10trn/-.
Dr. Lu Youqing, Head of China mission to Tanzania said his country is committed to assist economic development in Tanzania.
The Ambassador expressed that he has so far sensitized different China- based company to visit and explore numerous business investing opportunities in Dodoma region.
Dodoma City Council Director, Dr Fredrick Sagamiko briefed the delegation of envoys over the envisaged project transform Hombolo suburb into a special diplomatic town.
“Endowed with a vast dam located at least 70km from Dodoma City, Hombolo is placed at a strategic zone, nearing the Government city of Mtumba as well as the area for Embassies and Msalato International Airport, hence a need to facelift the town” he said.
Held under the theme of ‘Dodoma We are Ready For You’, the diplomatic tour is among efforts that are being engineered by the government in Dodoma region to attract investors from within, and outside the country to chip – in and invest into the region.
