SPEAKER of the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Tulia Ackson, yesterday, August 22, 2023, visited the retired Speaker Mr. Pius Msekwa at his home in Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam.

Dr. Tulia, who took charge to lead the National Assembly since 2020, visited the long- serving veteran politician with a patriotic purpose to know about his welfare, but also, to acquire further wisdom to help her lead the August house in the needed direction.

Pius Msekwa (born 9 June 1935) was the Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania from April 1994 to November 2005.

He chaired the CPA Executive Committee from 1999 to 2002. He later became vice-chairman of the ruling party Chama Cha Mapinduzi.
