
DODOMA. THE government has allocated 6.02bn/- to compensate residents of Lifua, Liungai, and Masimavalafu villages in Ludewa District, Njombe Region, for their role in facilitating a major electricity project.
The Minister for Energy, Mr. Deogratius Ndejembi told the Parliament that the funds are earmarked for the 2026/27 financial year.
He stated that the valuation process for compensation was completed by December 2025 and is now ready for verification and public display of the beneficiary list.
Minister Ndejembi was responding to a question from Ludewa MP, Mr. Joseph Kamonga, who inquired about the timeline for compensating residents of Liungai Village in Luilo Ward to enable the project’s progress.
In his response, the Minister assured Parliament that the government is committed to conducting the verification and compensation process with transparency and efficiency, ensuring that affected citizens benefit fully from the vital energy initiative.
