JKT’s Volunteering Program To Include Professional Youth

THE National Service (NS) has opened windor for the local  youth to apply for this year’s volunteering program, outlining six key professional sectors to be prioritized when selecting applicants.

The National Service (JKT) Head of Administration, Brigadier General Hassan Mabena yesterday unveiled the sector as fisheries, irrigation, psychology,  wildlife, livestock and civil engineering.

He detailed that the selected sectors are reflecting the economic areas which the government is currently working to improve with an eye to help heighten the country’s economic performance.

“We have become interested to give special priorities to the youth who holds vibrant background in the sectors in order to further mould them for sake of the national future development, ” he added.

Giving a special press conference over the development at the National Service Headquarters based in Chamwino District,  Brigadier General Hassan Mabena informed that an intensive interview for affiliating with the key posts have been skated for August 28, 2023, where the prospective qualified applicants will have to report to their relevant camps from 26th to 29th of September, this year.

” I want to remind the youth and the general public that this is just a volunteering program,  through which we’re imparting the involved youth with the vital life studies, as well as other necessary skills in pertaining to diverse socioeconomic sectors,” he expressed.

Further more, he communicated that the insight vision behind the program was not to offer any employment,  but to capacitate the youth with practical- based skills to help them stand a chance to employ themselves,” Brigadier General Hassan Mabena insisted.

He urged the youth to turn out in multitude and apply for the prestigious opportunity which focuses to turn them becoming more patriotic, saying the application process is being coordinated by the officr of the Regional Commissioners (RCs).

As per this year’s setup, the annual program will in this year welcome applicants from different education levels, ranging from primary education to high learning.
For the form four youth applicant, he detailed that they must not exceeding 20 years and must be those graduated between 2020, 2021 and 2022 academic years.

“The the form six applicants,  he expressed,  they must not exceeding 22 years of age, graduated from the same academic years ( from 2020 to 2022),” he stated.

The envisaged program  is open for both,  the youth from Mainland and Isle, and the prospective applicants must possess the valid relevant certificates .
