DODOMA: FORM four graduates in Tanzania will now have a second opportunity to reconsider and reselect their subject combinations for Form Five, as well as their course choices for middle-level and technical colleges, through an online Student Selection System.
The newly launched system marks a critical step in preparations for the 2026 student selection process, authorities have announced.
Prof. Riziki Shemdoe, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG), stated that the government has introduced this key initiative to give eligible students ample time to choose courses that best match their academic performance.

He explained that the selection window will remain open until May 10 of this year, and urged students and parents to consult thoroughly with teachers, academic advisors, and professionals to make well-informed decisions.
“This opportunity allows students to align their choices with their actual performance in the Form Four National Examination, as released by the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA),” he added.
Prof. Shemdoe confirmed that PMO-RALG has already uploaded student selection data into the system, enabling adjustments to be made.
“With the database now ready, graduates can access the system and update their preferred subject combinations or courses,” he noted.
The revised choices will serve as the basis for placement into Form Five streams and various technical and middle-level institutions.
Students can access the Student Selection Management Information System (MIS) through the official portal, where detailed guidelines, including user manuals and instructional videos, are available.
To log in, students must use their Form Four index number, surname, year of birth, and verification details.
He emphasized the importance of adhering to the deadline to ensure a smooth and timely placement process.
Students in need of clarification have been advised to seek support at Regional and Council Education Offices.
