PEOPLE with disabilities have appealled to to to to the government to assist them getting skills on with use of network systems in order to stand a chance of  benefiting from the loans offered by councils across the country.

In this month, the government through all councils across the country is expecting to embark on a digital exercise of rolling out loans to diverse groups within the communities, including people with disabilities, women and the youth.

Speaking at a press conference in Dodoma Capital City, the Director of the Foundation for Disabilities Hope (FDH), Mr Michael Salali said the majority of people with disabilities are failing to benefiting from the helpful loaning scheme due to poor awareness on the use of network systems.

Mr Salali observed that there’s a major development in the side of network technologies in the world, but it was very unfortunate that the people with disabilities are being crowded- out from benefiting from the key economic opportunity.

“For instance, it is very difficult for the people with hearing and sight impairment to use the network systems, the situation which places them on the negative side to apply and get the loans,” he said.

He underscored the need for all councils across the country to set a tailor -made system to assist the people with different forms of disabilities in their respective areas to apply and get the loans through networks.

Moreover, he said the situation in which they’re unable to apply for the loans was literally the other form of discrimination towards them, asking for the government intervention.

However, to that end, Mr Salali unveiled that the foundation, FDH, is planning to meet with leaders of all councils to chart on possible ways to assist the disabled to get the said loans as others.

He challenged the Tanzanians to create and embrace a habit of not discriminating against the disabled, added: ” The people with disabilities are having statutory rights to live and participating in all key socioeconomic activities, including vying for different leading posts,”
