TAEC Set To Spend 2.6bn/- To Roll Out Scholarships To Best Science Students

THE Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission (TAEC) is set to spend a total of 2.6bn/- to roll out scholarships to the local science students who will excel in their university’s final examinations. 

Giving an interview to Sema TV, TAEC Director General (DG), Prof. Lazaro Busagala said in the envisaged scheme the concerned students will be those who persues first Degrees at different science studies, saying girls will however be given first priority. 



He added that the three consecutive years program focuses to spur innovation in the different science facets across the country.

“Moreover, the scheme targets also to attract and motivate girls to undertake  science studies, from secondary to higher education level,” he said, added the move was also inline with the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM)’Manifesto. 

The Don unveiled that as per the program,  the state-owned Commission will sponsor five best students in this year to attend further studies abroad, whereby it will do the same in the next two years consecutively.

Apart from those to be sponsored for further studies abroad, he infomed that some of the excelling students will be assisted to further improve their studies at different local varsities.

“Generally, this program eye to help create more innovators in science and technology sector for the bright economic future of our nation,” he informed. 

Prof. Busagala challenged the science students in Tanzania to make sure they perform impressively in their daily studies in order to stand a possible opportunity to grab the vital scholarships.



“These scholarships will be offered in a biasless manner because we’re looking forward to supplement the National Economic Vision through moulding high tech innovators,” he assured.

The Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission (TAEC) is the regulatory body responsible for all atomic energy matters in the United Republic of Tanzania.
