BEIJING, China. SENIOR journalists and Government officials from Tanzania, South Sudan, Zimbambwe, Ivory Coast and Turkey are taking part in the ongoing seminar on how technological revolution can be used to foster socioeconomic development.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Information Officer from the Tanzania’s Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament and Coordination), Mr Augustino Tendwa said the timely workshop was useful to help sharpening performance of the participants.
Dubbed “Senior Management of Mainstream Media in Countries along the Belt and Road Initiative”, Mr Tendwa observed that the clinic was tailored to pave the way for journalists and Government officials to understand the technical know-how as the cornerstone for industrial revolution.
He noted, as part of the training, senior media professionals visited Laird Technologies, a global leader in electronic and connectivity solutions, to witness first-hand impressive strides China had made in technological innovation.
He noted that during the study visit, the delegation toured Laird’s facilities in Beijing and observed the company’s advanced production of high-tech components used in wireless communications, thermal management, and vibration.
“Laird Technologies is a great example of how China is advancing in science and technology through innovation and industrial research. This visit presents a valuable opportunity for us to explore areas of collaboration that can help Tanzania advance its own industrial and technological sectors,” said Mr Tendwa.

He stressed that the seminar aimed at building the capacity of senior media professionals and government officials by exposing them to China’s experience in development, particularly under the Belt and Road Initiative. “It also focuses on the role of media in shaping public understanding and promoting international cooperation and investment.”
Tanzania’s participation highlights the country’s commitment to learning from global best practices and leveraging media and technology to drive sustainable development.
