RC Shigella Hails HEXAD’s Efforts To Advance Mining Technology

GEITA Regional Commissioner (RC) Mr Martin Shigella has today, Friday 4th October 2024, visited the HEXAD, a Tanzanian focused gold producer, explore and developer at the seventh Geita Mining Technology Exhibition.
Mr Shigella visited the local mining company and got opportunity to get insight information about the diverse activities and services being rolled out with an eye to help improve performance of the mining sector in Tanzania.
Speaking with HEXAD officials, RC Shigella applauds the local’s Gold producer for attending the 7th Mining technology exhibition and promised to visit their mining plant in Rwamgasa located on the Southwest of Geita Region, 42 Kilometers from the capital town.
“I will soon visit your mining plant,” he said after his visit to HEXAD pavilion just shortly after briefing journalists about the launching of the 7th Geita Mining technology expo which according to him will be graced by Deputy Prime Minister Doto Biteko tomorrow, 5th October from 11am and officially closed on 13rd October by President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Addressing reporters, HEXAD General Manager, Ms Julieth Mushi said: “HEXAD is a Tanzanian, focused Gold Producer, our head office is in Dar Es Salaam, main focuses is on its flagship asset – the Rwamgasa Gold Mine Project, Located on the Southwest of Geita Region, 42 Kilometers from the capital town.”
Ms Julieth added: “We are committed to providing a positive working environment free of discrimination and harassment in all of our activities. We act and treat each other with dignity and respect.”
She pointed out that safety of its people and high care to environment its one of their major responsibility at HEXAD. “The majority of the Company’s activities are carried out in areas which are sensitive to the impact of mining operations.”
On social responsibility, the HEXAD General Manager said: “We are actively engaged in the local communities in the areas in which we operate by, among other things, by supporting and contributing to education and infrastructure and by prioritizing the local population when employing staff.”
The General Manager concluded by welcoming visitors at the seventh Geita mining technology expo to their pavilion as a move to understand their activities.
On his part, HEXAD Managing Director Mr Fortunatus John Luhemeja said: “We are small miners who believe in expertise. In our mining company, we have different experts in geology, finance, and human resources, all of which enable us as an institution to go further and further.
Therefore, apart from our success coming from our efforts, we also receive good management support from the Resident Mine Office which wants to see the mining sector successful.”
