PSPTB To Train, Certify Auditors Of Procurement And Supply Sector

THE Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB) is set to embark on a program to train the auditors who will be auditing performance of the procurement officers in both, public and private sectors.
Expecting to commence next year, the timely program will also involve certification of the trained auditors.
According to the PSPTB Executive Director, Goodfred Mbanyi, the board has already developed a tailor-made professional curriculum in readiness to start rolling out the key training.
He was speaking at the 14th Annual General Conference of the Procurement and Supply Professionals which continues in Arusha Region.
“And all public entities and ministries will legally be required to use services of the trained and certified auditors to audit the performance of their procurement and supply departments, ” he detailed.
The Director added that through implementation of the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) project, it is projected that, all public varsities will be required to improve their training curriculum with an eye to base on market demand, but also equip the graduates with the high practical skills pertaining to ICT.
PSPTB is state-owned institution established by Act No 23 of 2007.
The institution is charged with the responsibilities of developing, monitoring and controlling Procurement and Supplies Professionals in the public and private sectors.
