
DODOMA. AT LEAST seven prominent former ministers have been dropped by President Samia Suluhu Hassan in the new cabinet lineup which will serve the nation for 2025/2030.
The ministers in question include former Deputy Prime Minister -Cum- Minister for Energy, Mr. Dotto Biteko, former Agriculture Minister, Mr. Hussein Bashe, former Minister for Industry and Trade, Mr. Selemani Jafo, former Health Minister, Ms. Jeniste Mhagama, Minister for Home Affairs, Mr. Innocent Bashungwa, former Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Pindi Chana and former Minister Constitution and Law, Mr. Damas Ndumbaro.
In the new cabinet announced this afternoon, November 17, 2025, at State House in Chamwino, President Samia has introduce new faces at key ministries.
In the new list, the Head of State has appointed Mr. Ridhiwani Jakaya Kikwete a new Minister for the President’s Office responsible for Public Service Management and Good Governance, to be assisted by Deputy Minister Ms. Regina Ndege Qwaray.
The President’s Office for Planning and Investment will be manned by Prof. Kitila Mkumbo, with Pius Steven Chaya as Deputy Minister.
A new ministry of Youth development, which has been established under the President’s Office will be served by Mr. Joel Nanauka as the Minister.
In the Vice-President’s Office responsible for Union and Environment, Eng. Hamad Yusuph Masauni has been appointed Minister, assisted by Festo John Ndugange as Deputy Minister.
The Office of the Prime Minister has also seen major changes. The docket for Policy, Parliament, Coordination and Persons with Disabilities will be led by Mr. William Lukuvi, with Ms. Ummy Ndeliananga as Deputy Minister.
The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations will be led by Mr. Clemence Sango, the deputy is by Ms. Rahma Kisuo.
The Prime Minister’s Office has regained oversight of the Ministry of Regional Administration and Local Government. Prof. Riziki Silas Shemdoe has been appointed Minister, with Mr. Ruben Kwagilwa serving as Deputy Minister in charge of education matters. The health function within this docket will be overseen by Mr. Jafar Rajab Seif.
At the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Khamis Mussa Omar will serve as Minister, whereby Mr. Loren Deogratius Luswetula and Mshamo Munde will stand as Deputy Ministers.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation will be headed by Mr. Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, assisted by Dr Ngaru Jumaanne Magembe and Mr. James Kinyasi Millya as Deputy Ministers.
In the Ministry of Home Affairs,Mr. Boniface Simbachawene has been appointed Minister, with Mr. Denis Lazoro Londo serving as Deputy Minister.
The agriculture docket will be led by Mr. Godfrey Chongolo, with Mr. David Silinde as Deputy Minister, while the Ministry of Water will be headed by Mr. Juma Aweso, deputised by Mr. Kundo Andrew Mathew.
The Defence and National Service will be handled by Minister Raymond Nyasaho, whereby the Ministry of Works will be supervised by Minister Mr. Hamisi Abdallah Ulega, with Eng. Godfrey Kasekenya as Deputy Minister.
The Ministry of Transport will be headed by Mr. Makame Mbarawa Mnyaa, assisted by Mr. David Mwakiposa Kihenzile.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade will be overseen by Ms. Judith Kapinga, with Mr. Pascal Katambi as Deputy Minister.
In the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Ms. Angela Kairuki has been appointed the Minister, with Mr. Switbert Mkama serving as Deputy Minister.
The Ministry of Community Development, Gender and Special Groups will be led by Ms. Dorothy Gwajima, he deputy is Ms. Maryprisca Mahundi.
At the Ministry of Health, Mohammed Mr. Mchengerwa has been appointed Minister, with Ms. Florence Samizi as Deputy Minister.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology will be headed by Prof. Adolf Mkenda, assisted by Wanu Hafidh Wazir.
In the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development, Mr. Leonard Akwilapo has been appointed Minister, with Mr. Kaspar Mmuya as Deputy Minister.
The natural resources and tourism docket will be led by Dr Ashatu Kijaji, with Mr. Hamad Hassan Chande as Deputy Minister.
The Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports will be headed by Prof. Palamagamba Kabudi, assisted by Mr. Khamis Mwinjuma and a second Deputy Minister, Mr. Paul Makonda.
At the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, Mr. Bashiru Ally Kakurwa will serve as Minister, with Mr. Ngawasi Damas Kamani as Deputy Minister, while the Ministry of Minerals will be overseen by Mr. Anthony Mavunde; his deputy is Mr. Steven Lemomo Kiruswa.
The Ministry of Energy will be headed by Mr. Deogratus Ndejembi, with Ms. Salome Makamba serving as a Deputy Minister.
In the Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Mr. Juma Zuberi Omera has been appointed Minister, assisted by Ms. Zainab Athumani Katimba.
