
Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba
DODOMA. THE newly appointed Prime Minister of Tanzania, Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba has said he will stand at fore front to ensure the Tanzania’s Development Vision 2050 is implemented with success in order to foster economic development in the country.
Speaking in Parliament in Dodoma shortly after being confirmed by Members of Parliament, the Premier said he was very determined to assist President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan in her diverse drive against poverty in the country.
The newly elected Premier observed that, it was disconcerting to learn that eight percent of Tanzania’s are living in abject poverty.
According to him, the Dira 2025 is a key vehicle to take the Tanzania’s out of poverty, should it be implemented effectively.
In the same vein, Dr. Nchemba assured the August House that he will push for serious implementation of the rulling party’s Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM)Â manifesto, saying the draft itimize a number of issues meant to address poverty among the Wananchi.
He also issued a ‘no- nonsense’ warning to irresponsible civil servants and officials who abuse public funds, saying they will face disciplinary action to fulfill the President’s vision.
Dr. Nchemba insisted that his administration will build a strong accountability framework in order to improve the performance of public servants across the country, as well as promote transparency in addressing citizens’ challenges.
Dr. Nchemba emphasized that the government will ensure public services are delivered with discipline, equality, and efficiency, adding that civil servants will be required to go to citizens in their local areas to help resolve the issues they face.
In his speech, the new Premier also congratulated the country’s recently appointed top leaders, including President Samia Suluhu Hassan, Vice President Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, Zanzibar President Alli Hassan Mwinyi, Attorney General Hamza Johari, and Speaker of the National Assembly Mussa Azzan Zungu.
