PROFESSIONAL management and development of human resources is key in helping to advance service delivery in any sector.
Based on this fact, the Government of Tanzania has been running a series of strategies aimed at setting better policy and friendly working conditions towards the civil servants in all categories.
The strategies, among others focus on empowering the Government officials in the management of Human Resources so that they can execute their daily roles professionally.
Between December 17th to 19th, 2024, the Minister of State in the President’s Office (Public Service Management and Good Governance) Mr. George Simbachawene will grace a special meeting to bring under the same roof the heads of human resources and administration departments in the public service in Tanzania.
The meeting will create a podium for the participants to chart ways on how best to intensify service delivery.

According to the Acting Permanent Secretary in the President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, Mr Xavier Daudi, the envisaged three- day meeting will see the participants exchanging experience on different issues regarding to human resources.
“During the meeting, we will remind each other on issues related to human resources supervision in the public service including the newly introduced digital systems like e-Watumishi, e-Uhamisho, e-Utendaji, e-Mrejesho and HR Assessment,’’ he said.
He directed that all heads of HR and administration should be allowed to participate in the meeting which he said is of public interests.
Mr Daudi further detailed that during the meeting, participants will be given directives on the best ways of supervising human resource in the public service by considering the vision and national priorities.

The meeting will be conducted under the theme: “Supervision of the Policy and Public Service Laws through the systems of Human Resources and Improved Digital Systems”.
Participants at the three-day meeting include heads of human resource and administration in the ministries, regional secretariat, Local Government Authorities, Independent Departments as well as Institutions, Public Entities and Government Agencies.
The Acting PS directed all Heads of HR and Administration who will participate in the working meeting to confirm their participation by registering through https://tsms.gov.go.tz latest by December 13, 2024.
Speaking at the occasion, The Director of Establishment in the Ministry, Ms Felister Shuli said that the Human Resources and Administration Department was core in the public service that is why they were convening for a working meeting so that they can replicate the similar capacity building to fellow employees.
Together with that, she added that other issues to be discussed during the meeting include preparations for salaries budgets as well as discussing issues pertaining to salary arrears.
