Mavunde Dishes Out 40m/- Worth Gas Cylinders To Support Food Vendors -

DODOMA lawmaker, Mr Anthony Mavunde has distributed a total of 500 Oryx Gas Cylinders towards the food vendors across 41 wards within Dodoma constituency.

The timely boost which is worth around 40m/- gears to allow the said important traders to speed- up and improve their service delivery, but also to heighten environmental conservation within the respective wards, as well as the whole Dodoma Capital City.

Speaking during a colorful event held at the Dodoma’s famous Nyerere Square grounds, which was tailored for the rolling out of the modern cylinders to the beneficiaries, Mr Mavunde who also serves as the Minister for Minerals expressed that focus was further to help reduce tree cuttings.

Tree cuttings, according to him, apart from being a negative form of environmental degradation, plays a negative role in propelling climate change across the country and thus, the practice must be contained.

“Through these gas cy Gas Cylinders, you will also stand a better chance to improve hygiene surrounding your business areas, the vital development which will automatically place your customers on a safe health side,” he said.

Expressing further, Mavunde observed that the support also meant to empower the beneficiary economically, as they will now be able to cook more foods within a short period of time, which literally means they will be able to accomodate more customers.

Speaking for his part, the District Commissioner (DC) for Dodoma, Jabir Shekimweri, apart from hailing the legislator for distributing the vital cooking facilities, he spoke over the need for the beneficiaries to be trained on proper use of the cylinders in order to avoid possible disasters.
