Madini Bonanza Fetches Fruitful Results

The crowd – puller event, dubbed in Kiswahili ‘Madini Bonanza’, was staged at the John Merlin Secondary School, mapped in Miyuji area, at the fringe of Dodoma Capital City

 

THE Tanzanians, especially the civil servants have been advised to deter from sedentary life and instead embrace a tendency of engaging into regular physical exercise in order to cheat the possibility of getting Non Communicable Disease (NCD).

The brave advice has been thrown today, (Saturday October 19,2024 ) by the Minister of Minerals, Mr Anthony Mavunde when gracing a special sports Bonanza, attracted workers from the parent ministry, together with those from the relevant institutions.

The crowd – puller event, dubbed in Kiswahili ‘Madini Bonanza’, was staged at the John Merlin Secondary School, mapped in Miyuji area, at the fringe of Dodoma Capital City.

He said, the Ministry has decided to organize the bonanza with an eye to create a potential podium for the workers of the Ministry and those from its like-minded institutions to strengthen solidarity and working ties.

Moreover, in his brief remarks during the event, Mr Mavunde insisted that the employees in the ministry should build a culture of exercising to strengthen their health, added,:  “As you know now, the statistics show that there is a big challenge of non-communicable diseases, so it is very important to exercise.”

Apart from pertaining into varied sports genres, Mr Mavunde who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Dodoma Town Constituency, challenged the workers to use the Bonanza to discuss viable measures to help improve their daily performance at their respective offices.

“I congratulate you for this bonanza because it helps us stay together, have fun and get to know each other better,” he said.

In another development, Mr Mavunde has encouraged the employees of the Ministry to participate in the ongoing exercise of registering for the Local Government Leaders election which is expected to be held in November this year.

On his part, Acting Secretary General in the Ministry of Minerals, Terence Ngole expressed that the Bonanza incorporated various sports competitions, including football, hoops, rope as well as racing.

The event saw the best winners  in various categories awarded with numerous prizes, including medals and trophies.
