DODOMA. KATOTO TENNIS ACADEMY, the Dodoma’s sole initiative for the promotion of young tennis talents, is set to launch the maiden Ultra- modern tennis courts in the Dodoma Capital City.
The envisaged development aims to boost efforts to train an expanded number of young tennis players, in the Dodoma Capital City, and the central zone corridor in a whole.

Mr. Paul Ingavi, the Head Coach at Katoto Tennis Academy, informed the publication that the modern courts have been installed by the Academy at Njedengwa area, at the Fringe of Dodoma Capital City.
“If all goes well”, Mr. Ingavi said, “We’re going to inaugurate the new modern playing grounds from November 29 to 30, 2025,”
According to him, the reason behind launching of the said courts is to promote tennis talents from earlier ages, to build children’s discipline, good health and morals through participation in sports and to prepare and develop strong teams that can participate in national and international competitions.
“We’re appealing to companies, financial institutions, schools, sports stakeholders and individual well- wishers to turn out on larger number to support us to ensure launching of the facilities is staged successful and impactful,” he expressed.
He noted, the launching event is expected to attract government officials, sports officials, traders, dignitaries from diplomatic side, talented children who are playing tennis, parents, members from the press, as well as other tennis enthusiasts.

“There will be other attenders from diverse organizations, from both public and private sector, ministries and academic institutions, to mention but a few,” he said.
He briefed, during it inception, the Academy started with only four children, saying today the tennis clinic has over 40 young talented tennis players.
And the tactician expressed that the Academy has an array of plans to expand performance of the game in the region, including plan to establish tennis clubs from grass roots levels, starting from primary schools up to secondary schools.
“After the launching of the tennis courts we’re planning to stage a number of tournaments, in Dodoma and in other nearby regions as part to attract more children to take part in the game,” he noted.
Recently, the Academy organised a groundbreaking tournament, dubbed “Katoto Tennis Tournament.
Staged in Dodoma Capital City, the tournament attracted over 50 young talented tennis players from different regions, including Morogoro, Dar es Salaam and Arusha.
