DODOMA. ECONOMIC Gulu Dr. Mwigulu Lameck Nchemba’s has today appointment as the new Prime Minister of Tanzania, the appointment was met with widespread acclaim across the nation. Known for his dedication and expertise in economic management, Dr. Nchemba is expected to steer the country towards sustainable development.
Born and raised in Tanzania, Dr. Nchemba’s journey to the Prime Minister’s office is a testament to his hard work and commitment to public service.

Dr. Nchemba’s economic policies are centered around boosting local industries, attracting foreign investment, and ensuring that the benefits of economic growth are shared equitably among all Tanzanians. He believes in empowering the private sector to drive growth.

Speaking to Sema Media shortly after the appointment, many of the those interviewed urged Dr. Nchemba to have a comprehensive plan so as to boost the economy, focusing on key sectors such as agriculture, mining, and tourism. The plan also includes measures to improve the business environment and attract investment.
“The Prime Minister must emphasize the importance of technology in driving development. He must invest in ICT infrastructure to improve service delivery, enhance transparency, and promote innovation,” Mr. Nicholaus Gilliard, a Dar es Salam based journalist told Sema Media in a telephone interview.
He added: “Dr. Nchemba must be keen on strengthening Tanzania’s position in regional and international organizations. He should understand that Tanzania can play a more significant role in promoting peace and stability in the region.”
Adeline John, a Dodoma based resident said: “One of the key areas of focus for Dr. Nchemba’s administration is infrastructure development. He has to invest in roads, railways, and energy projects to improve connectivity and support economic growth.”
John noted: “On his new role, the Prime Minister has to reach out to the diaspora, encouraging them to participate in Tanzania’s development. Must believes that Tanzanians abroad can contribute significantly to the country’s growth through their expertise and investments.”
Improving Governance
In his efforts to improve governance, Dr. Nchemba has initiated reforms in the public sector. He aims to make the government more efficient, transparent, and accountable to the people.
The new Prime Minister must closely worming with various stakeholders to ensure that the development agenda is inclusive and addresses the needs of all Tanzanians, including those in marginalized communities.
