Excelling Tabora-based Apiaries Company Eyes To Revolutionize Local Bee-Farmers

DODOMA. PMM Apiaries, the Company dedicated to revolutionizing beekeeping in Tabora region, plans to increase the number of it modern beehives, from the currently 500 to at least 500,000 by 2030.
Modern beehives are characterized by their removable frames and are designed to allow beekeepers to inspect and manage colonies effectively.
Apart from boosting bee-honey production in the region mapped in mid-western part of Tanzania, the development target to maximize the company’s scope to assist the bee-farmers.
Giving an exclusive interview to the publication, Dr Judith Mhina Spendi, the Executive Chairperson of PMM Group of Companies said the target behind the company is to elevate the general performance of Tanzania’s apiculture sector.
Dr Spendi spoke with the website shortly after her company to have been awarded a special recognition prize for it contributions towards assisting Tanzania to become the host of the global beekeeping apex forum, Apimondia, the eagerly -awaited event which has been drafted to take shape from 20th to 25th September 2027 in Arusha City.
“We’re very happy to receive this awards, this will boost our working morale to further heights, especially in reaching out a vision to transform Tanzania into the best country for honey production in the globe by 2035,” she assured.
She observed, endowed with at least 48 million hectares of forest resources, Tanzania has capacity to push production of honey to the extent of over 36 million tons, should the natural ecosystems used effectively.
“PMM Apiaries is dedicated to revolutionizing beekeeping in Tabora region, from beehives construction to modern beehives management, honey processing and storage, we aim to foster a sustainable and profitable beekeeping industry,” she noted.
To help increase volume of locally produced honey into the Europe markets, Dr Spendi detailed that the company was working to impart the bee-farmers and processors in Tabora region with the much- needed skills and technologies.
These, according to her, include modern beekeeping practices and recommended honey harvesting, among others.
“The focus, is to assist the bee-farmers adopting modern facilities and skills to enable them producing the honey at the set international standards and quality,” she insisted.
She added:” Our state – of-the-art facilities incorporates advanced technologies to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and meet evolving industry standards,”
