DR NCHIMBI: ‘Democracy, Human Rights Will Keep Prevailing in Tanzania’

SECRETARY General of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Ambassador Dr Emmanuel John Nchimbi has assured the International Community (IC) that the rulling party, under strong leadership of President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan will continue to strengthen and make sure democracy and human rights prevails in Tanzania.

Ambassador Nchimbi said this when he met with the Turkish Ambassador in Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Mehmet Güllüoğlu, Ambassador of Morocco, Hon. Zacharia El Goumir, together with the Executive Director of Policy and Evaluation of the American Charity Organization (MCC), at different times yesterday (October Tuesday 15, 2024 ) in Dar es Salaam City.

During the Diplomatic talks, held at the CCM’s Lumumba- based Office, Dr Nchimbi said major stride has so far been achieved in strengthening democracy, good governance, economy and civil rights across the country under the rulership of the sixth phase government.

The timely talks among others, focused to improve relations in various fields, including politics, agriculture, technology, education, and sports, with the aim of bringing about common development to the people of all parties.

During his talk with the Turkish Envoy, Dr Nchimbi said the bilateral relation between Tanzania and Turkey was a strategic one, saying that ongoing construction of the standard gauge railway (SGR) in Tanzania was among the good results attained from the relationship between the two countries.

Speaking for his side, Dr  Güllüoğlu, the Turkish Ambassador in Tanzania said his county will continue to bolster its ties with Tanzania, especially in assisting to develop the varied key sectors, including technology, education and cash crop trading.

And in separate talks, Dr Nchimbi hailed Morocco for paying major contribution towards scaling up the education and sports sectors in Tanzania.

“We’re appreciating the diverse support that Tanzania have kept on benefiting from the Moroccan government, including support to erect the construction of the largest mosque in East Africa, built in Kinondoni district in Dar es Salaam,” Ambassador Nchimbi appreciated.

Hon. Zacharia El Goumir, the Ambassador of Morocco in Tanzania said his country is determined to continue dishing out more supports to ensure the education and sports sectors in Tanzania is developed to the needed quality.

In addition, the conversation between Dr Nchimbi and the MCC delegation was led by Hon. Dan Barnes, focused on the areas of politics, development projects and good governance.

Ambassador Nchimbi emphasized that the CCM Government, under the leadership of President Dr. Samia continues to take decisive action in improving the state of democracy and human rights in the country. 

Ambassador Nchimbi stressed that this development is part of the government’s vision to ensure that citizens’ rights and good governance are maintained, while Tanzania continues to be a role model in Africa and the world in general.
