Budget Officers At Natural Resources Ministry Told To Embrance E- systems, Regulations

THE Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Mr Benard Marcelline has directed the budget officers in the ministry to ensure that the budget and activities to be implemented for the 2024/25 financial year are in line with the government set E- systems and regulations.

The systems, according to him, include the Public Employee Performance Management Information System (PEPMIS) and the Public Institutions Management Information System (PIPMIS) as well as the Special System for Assessing the State of Human Resources in the Government (HR) Assessment).
He issued the vital directives over the weekend during a special meeting attracted budget officers of the ministry and other relevant institutions within the parent ministry.
Held in Singida region, the one- day meeting was tailored for preparation of the budget of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism for the financial year 2024/2025.
“Effective use of the systems, apart being to comply with the set regulations, will enable the ministry to professionally measure performance of individual employees, departments, sections, units and the entire institution,” Marcelline observed.
Similarly, he insisted that, proper application of the new developed E- systems will ensure that the budget preparation for the next financial year of 2024/205 is done more efficiency.
He tasked the officers to ensure that the envisaged budget estimations reflects the actual requirement for the ministry for the 2024/2025 fiscal year.
Together with that, he challenged the budget officers at the ministry to use the challenges they identified in the implementation of the budget and plan for the 2023/24 financial year so that they can come up with strategies and priorities for the next financial year of 2024/2025.
Speaking previously, the Director of the Department of Policy and Planning from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Mr Abdallah Mvungi expressed that the ministry will work round the clock to ensure for sober plans and effective implementation of the coming budget.
He said the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism is among the ministries that are in the government’s plan to increase foreign currency and the current strategy is to increase foreign currency of more than 16.5 billion US dollars.
