Procurement And Supply Professionals Annual Conference Attracts over 1,500 Participants

than 1,500 professionals in procurement and supply sector have so far confirmed
their participation in the forthcoming 14 edition of the Procurement and Supply
Professionals Annual Conference.
Scheduled
to take shape at the Arusha-based International Conference Center (AICC) from
12 to 14 December, the key annually staged event which is being coordinated by
the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB) is
projected to bring together over 2000 participants under the same roof.
Briefing
this media platform over the so far preparations ahead of the crucial
conference, the Director of Professional Development at PSPTB, Amos Kazinza
informed that more 1,500 relevant professionals were registered for the event
as of yesterday.
“Preparations
for the event continues at good pace and standards, and we’re remaining
optimistic that everything will go as planned,” he briefed.
According
to him, the event has already attracted at least 20 potential sponsors and
doors are still open for more others to chip in and bless the envisaged
gathering.
“We’re appealing to the esteemed professionals who have already registered to issue
their participation fees before November 30, in order to stand a comfortable
side to receive the conference’s needed kits,” he communicated.
Contrary
to the past event, he informed that in this year’s event, provision of the
conference kit will base on payment priority.
”
The conference kits will be provided in 11th of December, based on those who paid first,” he
expressed.
And he
added, as part to support President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan’s initiative on
tourism, the participants of the annually staged forum will have an ample
opportunity to visit to the diverse tourism attractions found in Manyara
Region.
Head of
the Marketing and Public Relations Unit at PSPTB, Shamim Mdee has expressed to
have appreciated the time-heart cooperation so far demonstrated by the
companies in readiness to support the envisaged gathering.
She
added that, apart from the relevant professionals and the local stakeholders,
the gathering will also feature participants from outside the country.
She
unveiled some of the companies in the event’s sponsorship list as Zanzibar
Insurance Cooperation (ZIC), Dynatech Solutions, the Tanzania Telecommunications
Corporation (TTCL), Bravado Solutions,
Tanzania Social Action Fund (TASAF), Bisech Tour Company, Nekira Company
Ltd, Haier Tanzania, e- Government
(e-GA), the Tanzania Standard Newspapers (TSN), Soft Tech Consultant, UTT AMIS,
Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA),National Insurance
Corporation of Tanzania Limited (NIC), Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) and
UCSAF.
In the
list, other companies include Fair Competition Commission (FCC), National
Social Security Fund (NSSF), National Housing Corporation ( NHC), Workers Compensation Fund ( WCF) as well as Shades of Green Safaris.
She
informed that online registration for taking part in the conference was
continuing at good pace, urging those wishing to participate to timely turn out
and apply earlier in order to stand a better side to benefit from the
professional conference.
“On
behalf of the Board of Directors and the Management of PSPTB, I would like to
inform the general public, the esteemed professionals in the procurement and
supply chain that the 14th edition of the Procurement and Supply Annual
Conference has been scheduled to convene at the International Conference Center
in Arusha’s tourist City from December 12 to 14, 2024,” she insisted.
She also
extended appreciation to the stakeholders and sponsors who bankrolled the 13th
conference during last year, appealing to them to mull over the possibility of
extending similar support to have this year’s conference run more fruitfully.
“Those
who feels to be part of the event’s sponsors are advised to communicate with
the PSPTB’s Board through the Marketing and Public Relations Unit in order to
get relevant detailed information” she expressed.
Detailing
over the registration protocols and the set fees for participating in the
envisaged conference, Mdee expressed
that the participants who have so far register at PSPTB will be charged at
500,000/-, whereby the non-members participants, and those from other
professionals will have to part with at least 650,000/-.
And she
added, “The participants from outside the country will have to dig deep into
their pockets to the tune of USD400 in order to book their place for the
crucial conference,”
However,
she unveiled that PSPTB has taken into consideration the students who have yet
to be employed, saying those wishing to take part will be charged at a
reasonable fee of 300,000/-.
“As per
the set participation registrations, the prospective participants are supposed
to visit our official website,” Mdee detailed.
The
Procurement and Supply Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB) is a
government institution established by Act No. 23 of 2007. PSPTB is charged with
the responsibilities of developing, monitoring and controlling Procurement and
Supplies Professionals in the public and private sectors in the country.
The 14th
Professional Annual General Meeting (AGM) aims to bring together procurement
and suppliers professionals and stakeholders within and outside the country to
share their knowledge, skills and exp²erience of professional practice and related
issues in the profession.
The AGM
is open to procurement and supply practitioners, tender board members,
accounting officers, auditors, engineers, architects, quantity surveyors,
pharmacists, academicians, consultants, researchers, policy makers, business
community, entrepreneurs, suppliers, contractors, Non-government organizations,
as well as any other stakeholders.
